When the coronavirus pandemic shut down Israel’s schools in mid-March, the students and teachers of Dror Galil started meeting online to figure out how they could make a positive impact during this crisis. The students had read about the shortage of protective equipment for front-line medical staff, and they and the school’s teachers decided to confront the challenge head on. Since then they have produced thousands of specialized masks and other innovative protective equipment for hundreds of health workers at dozens of medical centers throughout Israel. All of which they distribute completely for free.
